ROM Update for 6315 *un-official*

Use at own risk!!! Any suppliers of this unofficial ROM update including myself will and shall not be held responsible for any action that may arise. In addition when and or if T-Mobile/HP gets their act together and do release a patch; it will most likely not work unless the T-Mobile/HP official patch is also modified for it to flash over to the HP modified patched unit. Doing any of the modifying, patching etc.. will void your warranty!

Instructions (You can only use the NewestROM if you haven't used any other ROM update)

  1. Download the NewRom or the Newest ROM (*Note* If you can use the Newest ROM then after step 7 you're done.)
  2. Unzip it using your unzip program (i.e. WinRAR, WinZip, 7zip, etc...)
  3. Double click on the hpRUU to run the program
  4. View the Readme and if you wish to proceed Agree to the Terms and Conditions
  5. Click Next
  6. Click Next again to flash the device with the new ROM
  7. Sit back relax and grab yourself something to drink while it handles its business.

If you would like a one step fix to getting the T-Mobile plug-in, SIM Contacts Manager, and the Battery Icon download the following file and run it directly from your unit. (*Note* This is a one step fix. If you were an early adopter and can't figure out the registry stuff and copying and pasting..etc... then hard reset your device and follow the instructions below.)

  1. Download this and run it directly from your unit.

  2. When asked to overwrite existing files choose "Yes to all"
  3. Once the installation has completed run the tmo.cpf file
  4. After entire process is complete soft reset your device.

Voila! You now have email triggers.
You can configure your POP account via the T-Mobile website or by hand.
And now you should be good to go

If you want the original T-Mobile Theme the do the following:

  1. Download this and unzip it
  2. Copy both files to the \Windows directory on the PPC
  3. Go to Start----Settings----Today
  4. Choose whichever one you like.
